Those close to us are aware of all the hard work put into this site.
But we want your AFX experience to be fun, informative and worth a return visit.

With the exception of Ve's brushes, we proudly develop and manufacture all our products in Melbourne, Australia.

Let us know if there is anything you like or something we can improve.

It all started when we made our inks for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean II & III’.

They loved them (thanks folks!), so with that encouragement, we decided to ‘go public’ with a small range of basics and Bluebird FX was born.

After a few years, we developed our innovative range of bloods, which found popularity with the costume, SFX and art departments too.

Next we turned our hand to making products for the semi-pro & amateur artist, cosplayer and student.

Now we have grown again.
New ranges, a new factory – a new beginning!

So whether you are shooting a multi-million dollar saga or training in trauma simulation, AFX has professional products to suit your needs, now and into the future.

Everyone is concerned about what they put on their skin and what it's doing to the planet.

Seriously, you should be.

So here are some fun facts about our products that may help with your due diligence.

All our products use only cosmetic / food grade ingredients.

All our products are vegan. That means NO animal-based or animal-origin products. No carmine colours. No shellac.
We don't have a 'pink bunny', but all our products are animal friendly and definitely not tested on animals.

We don't use mined mica or support any child labour industries.
We use RSPO certified products.

All our packaging is recyclable, plus we have started to swap to 100% post-consumer, recycled rPET bottles.

We are not about green-washing.
We're certainly not perfect.
We know our products make an impact.

But we are working hard to minimise that impact in every step of production, whilst ensuring we make the best quality products on the market.
